OXBLOOD .tripod .com was started back in 1999. For a couple of years it was pretty much empty. For 5 years it was a repository for the scripts of the great show Wonderfalls. Today (November 20, 2010) OXBLOOD .tripod .com is joining jAh as the comedy / non-crime compliment to the crime dramas site the five eight .com.
The site that was hidden from all for a decade has been found by Finnegan, one of the folk from the young americans fan forum and source of the 1080p composite episodes of young americans. Methinks i shall have to be more responsible with this site from now on.
So what is here? It is mostly episode guides, with a particular interest in ratings data where available, and other random things of interest that i find online along with my own observations. This site started in 1999 when i had this urge to have a website. For no particular reason. oxblood comes from the colour of the shoes i was wearing at the time i created this account on tripod.com. At one point i had my own transcripts of young americans here mixed with some others as i hadn't transcribed every episode (i think actually a whole one was transcribed/reviewed/corrected por moi and the rest were sourced from elsewhere). With tapes lent and lost i decided at some point to just have one source of transcripts (a bad decision in hinde-sight). When the scripts for Wonderfalls began circulating the internet there was added a copy of them here. And thus the site remained for many years.
the five eight (thefiveeight.com) comes from my being a fan of the younger Mr Hanks and the overwhelming urge to buy the domain name for the then-most recent working title of his then-forthcoming tv show which we now know as The Good Guys. The highlight of covering that beloved show was hosting the live chat for the series finale with a few of the cast, a couple of writers, and a few dozen fans. Other shows started coming out as i continued to clash with the insistance at Wikipedia to list episodes by American air date and dismiss Canadian ratings info for Canadian shows that make it to American tv. rookie blue isn't too bad but have you any idea what sort of mess CBS has actually made of Flashpoint? Every so often i come across a show that is either Candian, a crime drama, likely to be short-lived, not made in Los Angeles or New York City, or any combination of those which i also enjoy. It will likely get added. Is anything complete? Not really, as there is always something still lurking in an undiscovered shire.
UPDATE : In late October 2011 i acquired the former "Strawberry Lane" website that used to be found at hazeyphase.net. I have since relocated it to strawberrylane.thefiveeight.com where at least for now it pretty much is just what it was last year or 4 years ago. Plans are to expand it a bit but ideas are clashing with the goal of not overhauling the look and function and content of the site.
