David Tennant and Suranne Jones star in Single Father, a touching yet humorous drama written by Mick Ford about finding love after heartbreak. The programme tells the story of Dave (David Tennant), a photographer facing the seemingly impossible job of bringing up four kids alone after the sudden death of his wife, Rita. And things get even more complicated when he falls in love with his wife's best friend, Sarah (Suranne Jones). Single Father asks how soon is too soon to fall in love again?
Don't be fooled. While there is some humour to it, Single Father bares no resemblance to the 1990s American sit-com Full House beyond that of the widowed, single father.
If you like The Tenth Doctor then try Dave too.
Single Father was created and is written by Mick Ford (Scum, Silent Witness, Ashes to Ashes) and comes from Red Production Company and BBC Scotland. Sam Miller (Spooks, This Life, Cardiac Arrest) directed the first series.
